Hi - I’m Jonathan Beckett - accidental content creator, and definitely not a “real pilot”.

In the daytime I’m a software and web developer for a Microsoft partner, working on huge corporate systems that I can rarely tell anybody anything about. In my spare time - among other things - I tinker with flight simulation software and record my escapades on YouTube. You might have seen me on-stage at the recent FlightSimExpo in St Paul, Minneapolis!

My story with flight simulation started in the mid 1980s, and “Flight Sim 737” on an 8bit computer - followed a few years later by Sublogic Flight Simulator II on the Atari ST, and then various flight simulators on the PC over the next twenty five years. For a long time - when my daughters were young - I didn’t have a computer capable of running a simulator, but then inherited one from my Dad, and the journey proper began. He and his friends at a virtual airline were having problems learning the ZiboMod 737 in X-Plane - so I stepped in and recorded some tutorial videos. Little did I know just how steep, and just how slippery a slope I was standing on.

Fast forward five or six years and here we are - with over a thousand videos on YouTube, somewhere in the region of 50,000 subscribers, several thousand email subscribers to my blog, thousands more at ko-fi, and countless tutorials, guides, and livestreams shared with anybody interested in watching, learning, and hopefully being entertained.
